Students attend public or private high schools while living in the United States. Schools are close to the Host Families home and transportation is provided for most placements.

Public Schools
Most students enrolled attend public school and enjoy the experience. Students attend classes, receive grades and participate in extracurricular activities. Students learn more about the U.S. culture from the American teachers, counselors, and teenagers.

Public school is free to the student with some additional costs. Costs may include payment for books, school trips, sports, etc. Usually these costs are manageable for the student to pay for and do not cause a financial problem.

Private Schools
If the student chooses to attend private school, there is additional cost for tuition. Each school has a different price for tuition. The average cost of tuition for the academic year is approximately $5,000 to $8,000, with some more or less expensive. Tuition prices change from one year to the next. Some students receive scholarships to help pay for private school, but they are limited.

If the private schools have a religious affiliation, they are predominately non-denominational. Students are encouraged to learn more about difference religions, but shouldn't feel obligated to change their beliefs.
